When planning a construction or renovation project, how much do you research the surrounding area before getting started?
I’ve found that looking at a location from different angles can be useful before visiting the site in person. Besides checking maps and plans, Street View can provide a real 360° view of streets and surrounding areas, which can help you get a better visual impression of the neighborhood.
For example, you can look at nearby buildings, street layouts, access roads, landscaping, and the general character of an area. It can also be interesting when researching architectural styles or comparing how different neighborhoods have developed over time.
Of course, a virtual view cannot replace an actual site visit or professional measurements, but I think it can be a useful first step when researching a location.
