VINDICO N® PRODUCT SPECIFICATION
PROTECTION FOR GLASS & CERAMICS: Vindico – Meaning “PROTECTION” in Latin and superior performance in any language. Vindico N® protects glass, ceramics and vitreous surfaces from contamination like dirt, grease, industrial/automotive emissions, dust, soaps and corrosion from limescale and water spots. Vindico N® reduces maintenance on these surfaces and makes them easy to clean and remain clean longer. Common applications are shower doors and enclosures, decorative glass, structural glazing, windows, automotive windshields, cookware, household ceramics and greenhouses. Vindico has undergone continual refinement and is a third generation product. This means Vindico: - Provides the n
ewest technological advancements - Offers the fastest and easiest application (no downtime) - Low cost application – no expensive equipment - Does not require expensive maintenance products - Completely pH neutral without acid curing Vindico N® has been independently tested and verified to: - Provide greater durability than competitive products - Offer greater abrasion resistance – protection that lasts - Reduces maintenance and keeps glass cleaner chemistry: Vindico N® creates an easy clean, hydrophobic (water hating) surface on glass and ceramics. This reaction causes water to bead up and run off glass, greatly reducing contamination on surfaces. Just as important as forcing water off the surface, Vindico’s durable coating protects surfaces from water spots, rust and mineral deposits. These harmful contaminants can cause discoloration, heavy limescale and even permanent damage. Vindico treated glass and ceramic’s are also easy clean surfaces and do not require expensive or
specialty cleaning products. Simply use any cleaner formulated for glass. How does it work? Glass and ceramics mainly consist of Silicon dioxide (SiO ) - Vindico reacts with SiO and chemically bonds to these 2 2 surfaces, creating a durable protective layer. Unlike many hydrophobic products on the market, Vindico is based on silane chemistry with a unique neutral catalyst. This means that Vindico does not produce an acid reaction, which can damage glass, silicones and butyls.
Once chemically bonded, a durable network of polysilosanes is formed. This multi-molecular structure protects glass and ceramics from organic and inorganic contamination and is completely UV stable, unlike many other hydrophobic coatings.

Hydrophobicity Hydrophobicity is determined by measuring two important variables: Contact angleand running angle Durability is determined after UV, weathering and abrasion tests. Vindico
Tested – Proven – Superior Contact angle. A very small droplet of demineralised water (.004ml) is applied upon the surface. The diameter of the droplet is measured and the mean value is calculated. The contact angle is established using a calibration table. The larger the contact angle; the more hydrophobic the surface.
Running angle A droplet of .05ml of demineralised water is applied upon the surface. The angle of the surface is slowly increased until the drop starts to run. This angle is measured on different sections of the surface and the mean value is calculated. The smaller the angle; the more hydrophobic the surface.
Sustainability UV and weather resistance The UV and Weather resistance have been researched and tested independently by TNO Laboratories using a “Weather-Ometer” test. This test combines the exposure to UV radiation with humidity and temperature shocks. After a 1500 hour test (comparable to two years outdoor exposure) the contact angle of Vindico is sti
